○ (재)인천국제교류재단(대표이사 전영우)은 진정성 있는 국제교류재단으로써의 도약을 위해 ‘2014년도 상반기 IIRF Buddy 프로그램’을 인천 및 국내 거주 외국인을 대상으로 오는 3월부터 8월까지 6개월 간 운영한다.
○ 프로그램 담당자 유민종씨에 따르면 국내 거주 외국인에게 인천시민과의 교류기회를 제공함으로써 인천 및 재단의 국제행사 참가자의 국적 다양성을 높이고 나아가 국제교류 재단으로써의 위상을 증진시키고자 본 프로그램을 기획했다고 한다.
○ 또한 재단 교류사업 참가자의 네트워크 형성 및 지속적인 관리로 향후 인천 및 한국의 잠재적 국제교류 정보원으로써의 인적자산을 확보하는 것을 목표로 한다고 덧붙였다.
○ 상반기와 하반기 연중 2회로 운영될 예정이며 대상은 한국 및 인천에 거주하는 외국인이다. 선발된 외국인들은 인천 및 재단의 국제행사에 대한 정보를 제공받고 참여여부를 결정할 수 있으며, 재단 행사에 참여한 외국인은 개인 SNS 등을 통해 한국, 인천, 재단을 홍보할 예정이다. 기타 주요활동으로는 △재단의 국제행사 운영요원 △행사 참가 후 관련기사 작성 △ 사진촬영, 동영상 편집, 통?번역 재능기부 등이다.
○ 현재 2014년도 상반기 IIRF Buddy 프로그램 참가자를 모집 중에 있으며, 활동은 3월부터 시작될 예정이다. 본 프로그램이 외국인 기반 민간외교사업으로 발돋움하여 한국, 인천, 재단의 홍보효과 증대 및 교류 참가자 간 소통의 채널이 될 것으로 기대된다.

○ The Incheon International Relations Foundation (IIRF) is a non-profit organization aiming to promote international affairs of Incheon Metropolitan City. Since it was established by the city government, the foundation has organized a wide range of events for the citizens and foreign residents in Incheon, such as dispatching Incheon delegates to other countries, inviting foreign delegates to Incheon and holding global events including lectures, forums, cultural activities, etc.
○ As part of the efforts to build a network with foreigners from the world, the IIRF is about to launch the program of 'IIRF Buddy', which is expected to be a channel for friendship and close relations between the Incheon citizens and foreign residents in Korea.
○ The foundation is currently looking for foreign students enrolled in a Korean university or foreign residents living in Korea who can actively participate in its international events.
○ The main activities are as follows: online & offline activities to promote the IIRF global events; participating in a global event as a member of staff; attending a global lecture as an audience; writing an English article on an IIRF event; and translating & editing.
○ Selected applicants are supposed to choose more than one of the suggested activities per month and complete them. After the program is complete, a certificate will be awarded by the president of IIRF.
